10 Best Workout Songs To Crank Up Your Energy!

No matter what my focus will be for the day’s workout – biking, running, spinning, or weight training – I always make sure that my music is queued up and ready to go. For different routines, I have different playlists that will build up my energy at the key times. I can tell you from experience – music will determine the intensity of my workout and often the duration, too.

The key to a great motivational playlist is high energy. Songs that may cause my mind to wander or reminisce aren’t the greatest for my workout. Slow songs are a definite no and I prefer lyrics that inspire and entertain.

I have several different playlists, but I want to share my favorite one. I hope this helps you to make your own playlist selections.

1. Flo Rida featuring Sage the Gemini with Going Down For Real
The complex beats and hard lyrics really get me pumped up to work hard. There aren’t enough great things to say about this as my workout kick off selection.

So, let’s get started because – We are about to kill it in the gym!

2. Beyoncé’s Freakum Dress
Her hot body is enough to get anyone motivated to kick up the intensity. The lyrics of Freakum Dress remind us of how great it feels to look amazing when we head out for the night.

Remember – We gotta be hot for that dress!

3. Missy Elliott and Pass That Dutch
When Missy comes up on my playlist, no matter which song it is, I can’t help but increase my intensity. She is amazingly talented and her own physical improvements cause my motivation to go through the roof.

In short – This beat is simply infectious.

4. Beyoncé with Get Me Bodied
What can I say? Beyoncé once again reminds us of how getting out there, enjoying ourselves, showing off our tight bodies, and having a great time is a fantastic reward to working hard.

As she says, “a little sweat ain’t never hurt nobody,” so let’s get our bodies nice, tight, and right.

5. Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass
Well, for a female with some bass, I definitely gravitate to this track and smirk a bit when it comes on .

Love yourself, but don’t forget why you’re working out.

6. Britney Spears and Work B**ch
What else really needs to be said? This beat gets me working extra hard every time I hear it and the lyrics couldn’t be more perfect.

Quite simply – You’re not in the gym to lounge.

7. Christina Aguilera Ft Redman give us Dirrty
Can anyone argue with this one? Sweat feels great. Nothing wrong with getting dirty, sweaty, and sexy. Looking great and feeling amazing can’t be beat.

So, let’s get dirty and sweat it out in the gym!

8. Salt-N-Pepa’s Push It
Classic selection. Strong, determined, sexy women reminding us to push ourselves hard. Sexy isn’t just appearance, it’s a state of mind. Combine a hot body with a sexy attitude and the world is yours.

Don’t you dare stop doing what you’re doing!

9. Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj with Flawless
These women keep mixing up the beat and keep me going, but really…

“Flawless.” Do I really need to say more?

10. Nelly Furtado and Timbaland give us Promiscuous
Timbaland’s pounding beats cause my body to move regardless of what I’m doing. Combining him with Nelly’s sexy lyrics and this song makes me feel unstoppable.

Promiscuous is simply cute and catchy.

Just thinking about these songs and why they improve my workouts has me all ready to get sweating again. If these songs aren’t at the top of your list now, give them a chance and let me know how they affect you.
