3 Easy Exercises For Sexy Toned Legs

The temperatures are heating up and our clothes are getting smaller. We all know that summer calls for shorts and mini-skirts at every social event. Every girl needs a pair of sexy, toned legs to rock with our hot summer outfits.

Just like with other parts of our bodies that we want to look extra sexy, we need to work the right muscle groups. Working the leg muscles – and our glutes – is not very difficult since we use our legs constantly. Daily walks, using stairs instead of elevators are easy ways to keep your legs shapely. But for that extra tone, here are three of my favorite legs exercises.

Plie Squats
The best thing about squats is that you can do them anytime, anywhere. Squats are great for working the quads, glutes, hamstrings, and even strengthening the core.

Plie squats place a lot of emphasis on the inner thighs. Every woman I know, myself included, wishes she could just use a magic wand and erase the inner portion.

Set-Up: Stand with your feet wider than shoulder width apart, arms at your sides, and point your toes out to the sides.

Action: Squat down, bending your knees until your thighs are parallel with the ground. Lower your body, pause, then straighten your legs and push yourself back up to the starting position. Repeat at least 5 times in a row as you build your strength. Then do 3 sets of 15 reps.

Plie-Squats

Lunges

For a complete lower body workout, lunges are what you want. Lunges help increase muscle, shape the lower body, increase hip flexibility, and even strengthen the core.

Set-Up: Grab a pair of dumbbells, one in each hand, and stand with your feet shoulder width apart.

Action: Step your right leg back and lower into a lunge, bending both knees at 90-degrees. Hold for a bit then push yourself back up. Repeat on the next side. Do 3 sets of 15 reps.

Leg Press

You will need a leg press machine for this exercise which focuses on the quads.

Set-Up: Sit on the leg press machine and place your feet about shoulder width apart on the platform in front of you.

Action: As you exhale press the platform all the way until your legs are fully extended and are at a 90 degree angle from your body. Make sure to not lock your knees. Inhale and slowly lower the platform until your thighs and calves form a 90 degree angle at the knee. Go slowly as you are lowering the platform to avoid overstraining your muscles. Pushing with your heels, push the platform up to the starting position with your legs fully extended. Do 3 sets of 12-15 reps. Remember: Lower weight with additional reps tones; higher weight with fewer reps build bulk. Heavier weight can also result in muscle strain which will hinder your ongoing ability to exercise.

Leg-Press

The more you do these exercises, the easier they will become, and the better you will feel doing them. Another great result of toning your legs is that your balance will increase and you’ll find yourself walking with more confidence in those great summer sandals, too.
